Truly great friends are hard to find... difficult to leave and impossible to forget
...
It is difficult to find the words to describe "Stevie" as his family affectionately called him... if only my heart could speak...
He was full of life. His friends described him as "having a smile as wide as his double-barreled chest...He didnt just smile, he beamed". "If you were to categorize people, he would be energy. He could bring the positive into any room." Someone said he was "full-fledged, free entertainment. You can't find anybody better than that"...
He could sit down with someone he just met and make him or her feel like they had known him forever; he had that kind of magnetic personality. In simplest terms, he was a people person with a passion for sports (especially baseball in which he excelled) and like his father; Stevie had a deep love and respect for nature and the great outdoors...
Stevie was an inspiration for his cousins, both younger and older, myself included. We always wanted to know what he was doing. As family we knew he was a good person who would do anything for you and it was evident by the multitude of friends that came to pay their respects that they had seen the good in Stevie also. It warmed our hearts to see how many lives he had touched.
As we try to go on without him, we question why? Why so soon? This beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend had so much more to contribute, to achieve, so much more yet to experience. We find comfort in that God must have had a plan for him that couldn't wait. He knew Stevie wouldn't let Him down.
For those of us left behind; the sun will shine again, maybe not as bright as before, but we will carry on with his memory and fun loving spirit in our hearts until we meet again...... I love you "Cuz".... Valerie
